About the job:
The Red Hat Engineering team is looking for a motivated and skilled Senior Software Engineer to join us in Brazil. In this role, you will work as part of a globally distributed team in the middle ground between Red Hat OpenStack Platform and Red Hat OpenShift Container Platform. As part of the OpenStack Telemetry team, you will contribute to the Service Telemetry Framework, which is a set of microservices Red Hat OpenShift applications to provide monitoring and alerting for Red Hat OpenStack Platform. As a Senior Software Engineer, you will also contribute to the telemetry stack within Red Hat OpenStack Platform. This role can be based in Brazil or any other Latin America (LATAM) location where Red Hat is registered to do business.
What you will do:
  • Collaborate with product management, software architects, and leads to refine requirements for our offerings
  • Collaborate with software quality engineers to review and enhance test plans
  • Design, document, and create high-quality and extensible software for Red Hat OpenStack Platform and Red Hat OpenShift Container Platform telemetry and monitoring projects
  • Create and extend robust unit tests and continuous integration (CI) infrastructure tests based on past experiences with test frameworks and methodologies
  • Collaborate and land code upstream and across Red Hat’s development teams
What you will bring:
  • Advanced Programming skills in Golang, C, or Python
  • Experience with software configuration management tools like Red Hat Ansible Automation Platform or Puppet and with GitHub, GitLab, or Gerrit
  • Advanced knowledge of Kubernetes or Red Hat OpenShift
  • Experience with bug and issue tracking tools like Bugzilla and Jira
  • Experience with Prometheus, Loki, Grafana, and continuous integration (CI) systems like Jenkins, Zuul, or Prow is a big plus
  • DevOps or site reliability engineering (SRE) experience is a big plus
  • Experience developing and debugging Red Hat OpenStack Platform and its deployment frameworks like TripleO is a plus
